Lindsay Lohan fronts MCM X Crocs campaign, shoe brand also links with Jacob Collier
Crocs is extremely busy on the collaboration front at present with the love-it-or-hate-it shoe brand linking up for two high-profile drops, one being with luxury accessories label MCM.
It has just unveiled the MCM X Crocs Mega Crush Clog with Lindsay Lohan in a first-time campaign shot in Dubai “depicting a surreal universe where virtual meets reality. From bold, oversized accessories to customisable, playful designs, MCM becomes the complete embodiment of expression and exploration where style and attitude converge”.
With an oversized heel and sole on the new design, the shoe is “crafted with a unique electrolysed mirror platform, which is playfully conceptualised by the progressive elements of the city from the urban metropolis to the concrete jungle. Designed with exaggerated elevation, the sole makes a standout statement which takes wearers to new heights”.
MCM’s signature mini-belt bag also introduces a 3-in-1 modular design “that can be attached and detached over the facade of each shoe or worn as an accessory”. And there are additional personalisation options with new Jibbitz charms inspired by MCM’s house codes.
We're told the collab "showcases a timeless heritage of travel & mobility through a fashion-forward design, which captures the essence of the Zeitgeist from the past to the future”.
Meanwhile, Crocs is also partnering with musician Jacob Collier on a collab, resulting in the creation of the first-ever “music-making clog”.
The limited-edition Jacob Collier X Crocs Classic Clog produced with the singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, “is the first ever design that invites wearers to make music, featuring a bell detail attached on the back strap of the shoe”.
The campaign also highlights the launch of Collier’s latest single ‘WELLLL’ which is dedicated to this partnership, “and celebrates their shared values of self-expression, inclusion, and creativity”.
The music video features a set built from enlarged Jibbitz charms and Collier playing musical instruments “inspired by the pattern designed by Jacob in collaboration with Crocs” for the shoe.
He’s also hosting an online challenge where participants can add their musical twist to his latest single and have the chance to win concert tickets and shoes.
Crocs will donate €1 per participant to an organisation supporting music education.
