Pan Pacific Toronto Commences Elevator Upgrade
Celebrating its 50th year, Pan Pacific Toronto is set to commence an upgrade to the property's five elevators serving the 22-floor building. The work on both front- and back-of-house elevators will commence on 28 October, 2024.
“We have listened to our guests who have offered consistent feedback about our elevators and we have now confirmed an investment of almost C$1.4 million to upgrade this important guest infrastructure,” said Charles Otter, General Manager, Pan Pacific Toronto.
The upgrade to the elevators will be completed in phases, removing one elevator from guest use and one elevator from back-of-house at a time to lessen the impact of the work which takes 2-3 months at a time.
“It's a mammoth task, but essential. The elevators have served the hotel well for the last fifty years, and now it is time to upgrade and offer great reliability and faster access to the floors for guests well into the future.” Charles added.
The contract for the work has been awarded to Quality Allied Elevators who have confirmed that major components have been ordered and fixtures have been approved for production. It's full steam ahead.
“Quality Allied Elevator is proud to partner with Pan Pacific on the modernisation of the elevators at 900 York Mills Rd location. With over 40 years of experience in elevator modernisation, maintenance, and repairs, Quality Allied Elevator has become one of Canada's leading independent elevator companies. This project is a key investment by Pan Pacific, ensuring more reliable and efficient service for their guests and employees for many years to come.” said Philip Anthony Staite, Senior Account Manager, Quality Allied Elevator.
To ensure clear communication the hotel is embarking on a 'Bear With Us' internal campaign alerting guests to the work and apologising for any inconvenience.
