Anne Hathaway to host 2023 CFDA

The CFDA announced on Tuesday that Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway will replace Sarah Jessica Parker, as the host of the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards, set to take place on Monday at the American Museum of Natural History.

The CFDA explained in a press release that Parker is "unable to host the awards ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances.” 

In this role, Hathaway will also present the evening’s American Womenswear Designer of the Year Award with designer Narciso Rodriguez.


"The CFDA is thrilled that Anne, a native New Yorker and a performer with extensive experience in theater and film, has agreed to host the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards," said CEO Steven Kolb. 

”We are looking forward to her bringing her infectious energy and charm to the CFDA stage.”

The Awards ceremony and gala dinner will span the usual categories including designers of the year for womenswear, menswear and accessories. 

In terms of honourees, the board of directors' Tribute will go to Vera Wang in recognition of her impact on the bridal category. Domenico De Sole will receive the Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert, while Maria Cornejo will receive the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award. Likewise, the International Designer of the Year is Jonathan Anderson for J.W. Anderson and Loewe.

Most recently, the CFDA also revealed that Goop, the lifestyle brand founded by Gwyneth Paltrow, is this year’s recipient of the Innovation Award presented by Amazon Fashion.
