Christmas is coming and why not look to gifting something especially unique and sustainable this year?

Tessa Williams

Perfumes always have a magical appeal for the scents that they evoke and memories they create and choosing a perfume that is sustainable and inspired by the time of lockdowns seems particularly apt this year as we all go into Christmas with a bit more of a relief after the hard times we have been through.

A new collaboration between Tessa Williams, and Sarah McCartney of 4160Tuesdays Eau de Parfum range features three perfumes that evoke the scents we missed most from lockdown.

When parties were impossible during covid times, and the nearest to a social event was standing with a friend in the supermarket queue, the scent of Dancing with Strangers, a violet, rose powdery scent that conjures images of dancers in New York at the Black and White Ball in 1966. Completely glamorous and decadent this perfume is a delicious reminder of the most outstanding parties.

This is a deep, floral musk with traditional iris and violet powdery notes, entwined with honeysuckle; quite the opposite of baby powder, this is only for adults. It hugs you inside an invisible fluffy blanket and strokes you with skin tingling caresses. Tessa pictured Truman Capote’s infamous Black & White Ball of 1966, so Sarah gave this the style of a 1960s American voluptuous feminine perfume.

Another greatly missed scent from lockdown was the special scent of holidays – now since people have managed to get away for Beach trips and once more enjoying the thrill of travel, no one can forget the way the stifling lockdowns kept us grounded for over a year with passports hidden away, and airports and train stations eerily closed.

Warm Sands Blue Ocean alluded to the holidays we yearned for during that covid time,

The sandy beaches, the scent of tropical sun oil and warm sea breezes and vanilla salty air.

With vanilla, musk’s, and Timbersilk - a pale woods molecule it also has Atlas cedar for the aroma of skin warming in the sunshine and Ambrox, the molecule that recreates the scent of ambergris. Who doesn’t  love the seaside, and especially if you missed swimming there?

Close your eyes and you’re almost there on the beach with this scent.

The third perfume created in the series is a homage to the Music Festival, Dandelion Musk – the cool green scents of geranium, chamomile musk heralds the scent of a summer meadow glistening in the sunshine.

Live Music and Musicians were another part of our lives and social lives that were completely banished by the lockdown.

Dandelion Musk recreates the green aroma of a festival field - a small festival with freshly cut grass and wildflowers. Five soft musk’s - from Ambrettolide at the top to Galaxolide at the base - float around you like dandelion fluff, smoothing out the geranium and supergreen violet lead. The amyris patchouli blend at the heart of this wildflower bouquet is our homage to festival folk rockers in flares. Imagine lying in a meadow, staring at blue skies, and watching the clouds.

Each of the 4160xTessaWilliams perfumes come in a glass bottle which can be refilled and discounted when sent back to producer by 25% for a refill, also the boxes are 100% recyclable cardboard made in the UK.
